The Semi Final draw for the BBC Essex Premier Cup saw Waltham Abbey Res. handed a home tie against Buckhurst Hill. The visitors were relegated from the Prokit UK Essex Olympian League’s Premier Division last season but look like they will make an immediate return as they currently sit top of Division One. Last time out they disposed of Kelvedon Hatch, however Waltham Abbey ended May & Baker E.C. run in the previous round and with home advantage could be favoured to reach the Final. The last Reserve team to land the Essex Premier Cup was Witham Town Res. in 2005/06. The other Semi Final pits Old Southend, from Division One of the Olympian League, against local rivals Catholic United. The visitors ply their trade in the Olympian League’s Premier Division and they have reached the Final twice in the twice in the last three seasons, winning the competition last season but then having to hand the cup to Harold Wood Athletic due to a player technicality.
