Takeley 1 Basildon United 1

It was honours even between the top two at Station Road as Takeley and Basildon United earned a point each. The Bees took the lead seven minutes into the second period from a Marcus Bowers penalty but just seven minutes later Reece Barrett levelled for the hosts to make sure Takeley kept their unbeaten home record for the season.

BBC Essex Senior Cup 3rd Round

Great Wakering Rovers 2 East Thurrock United 5

Rovers were humbled at home by Vanarama South East Thurrock United at Burroughs Park to exit this seasons County Cup. The Rocks led when Montel Agyeman stabbed home after Lewis Smith’s shot had been saved but it was all square after five minutes when Jake Gordon burst through and applied a cool finish. However just four minutes later the visitors regained the lead when Smith’s fierce shot slipped through the grasp of ‘keeper Rees Hawkins and they increased their advantage when Calvin Ekpiteta curled home a fine twenty yard free-kick. And it was four when Smith scored from the spot after ‘keeper Hawkins had brought down Tom Richardson before Rovers pulled one back from the spot when Brad Nobbs fired past Lucas Lidakevicius. A much quieter second period saw The Rocks add a fifth when Richardson rifled home an angled effort on debut and sealed his sides passage into Round Four.

London Senior Cup 1st Round

Woodford Town 1 Clapton 1 (Clapton won 3-1 on penalties)

The Tons setup an away tie against Bostick Premier side Metropolitan Police after a penalty shoot out win over ESL rivals Woodford Town at Goffs Lane. The Tons took the lead when Ryan Reed set up Nalbani but Woodford levelled from close range as the half, which saw an end to end attacking contest, end all square. The visitors were reduced to ten men in the second half when Ebengo was dismissed but neither side could find a winner so the tie went to penalties. Clapton though held their nerve in the shootout to win meaning they progressed through to Round Two.

FC Romania 2 Hackney Wick 0 FCR are up to third on goal difference after two second half goals eventually saw off Hackney Wick at Theobalds Lane. Taban put the hosts in front nine minutes into the second period and the points were made safe when Ghinra doubled the home side lead with eighteen minutes remaining and see them to their eighth league win of the campaign.

Southend Manor 2 Enfield 1893 2

A late Bayley Newell goal saw hosts Manor snatch a point at home to Enfield at Southchurch Park. The visitors took an 11th minute lead from a Danny Jones penalty after Manor skipper Lee Delf was adjudged to have handled inside the box but just before the half hour mark the hosts levelled when a Jamie Brown corner caught out visiting keeper Michael Corderoy and although he managed to claw the ball out full back Alfie Lindfield blasted in the loose ball. But nine minutes before the break Enfield retook the lead when a through ball released Jones who finished well past David Leader and give the visitors a 2-1 half time lead. That looked like being enough for the visitors but as they began to tire and drop deeper and deeper Manor came onto them late on, and after the visitors missed a couple of chances to seal the deal on the break, the hosts pressure finally told and saw them level in the 92nd minute when a ball in by late substitute Rhys Fatt found its way through to Newell who rifled home via Corderoy’s hands and salvaged a draw for the hosts.
