Friday 20th October

Holland 1 Great Wakering Rovers 2

Rovers netted late on to sneak victory against Holland in Clacton to get through to the next round of the FA Vase.   The first chance of the game brought the opening goal as the visitors led inside ten minutes when Richmond converted from the spot after a foul on Carter but the hosts hit back to equalise when Eaton fired home.  And that looked like that would be that and extra time would be needed but as the game was getting stretched the visitors struck with four minutes remaining when Nash stabbed home a corner and end Holland’s maiden Vase campaign.

Saturday 21st October

Basildon United 0 Biggleswade 2

The Bees are out of the FA Vase after falling to two second half goals from Spartan South Midlands Premier side Biggleswade at The Hive.  The visitors edged ahead in the second period before sealing the deal with ten minutes left when great play by Ryan Inskip saw him find Lee Northfield who made no mistake and saw his side through.

Burnham Ramblers 0 Leighton Town 1

Ramblers three game winning run came to an end as they crashed out of the Vase after a home defeat to Bedfordshire side Leighton Town at Leslie Field.  The only goal came in the 68th minute when Lorrel Smith netted and it was enough for the visitors to take victory and progress.

Halstead Town 2 Tower Hamlets 2 (aet; Tower Hamlets won 6-5 on penalties)

Hamlets are through to Round Two of the Vase after a dramatic penalty shoot win over Halstead Town at Rosemary Lane.  The hosts led on 13 minutes through James Reagan but three minutes before half time Luke With equalised for the visitors to see the sides go in level at the half.   The second half failed to find a goal meaning the match went to extra time and with six minutes of it remaining With put Hamlets in front, however four minutes into stoppage time Jordan Pavitt took the game to penalties with a last gasp leveller for the hosts.  However Hamlets regrouped to win the shootout and progress into the next round.

London Lions 3 Clapton 2

Lions stunned The Tons in Barnet to get through to Round Two for only the second time in their history.  The hosts led on 18 minutes when Adam Burchell slotted home after Austin Lipman threaded a defence splitting pass through to him and it was two when Charlie Kasler slotted home after a gift from the Clapton defence four minutes into the second period.  Clapton pulled one back to threaten a comeback but Lions immediately restored their two goal lead when Kyte held the ball up and released Burchell for his second and although the Tons netted a second late on it was too little too late.

Welwyn Garden City 3 Takeley 0

Takeley crashed out of the competition after falling to Welwyn Garden City.  It started badly for the visitors when after Yates had saved a Spaul shot, Joy curled the rebound into the unguarded net, and it was two before half time when Rome netted for a dominant hosts.  And the hosts sealed the deal when Bronti fired home and see his side into Round Two.

Sunday 22nd October

FC Romania 2 Eynesbury Rovers 0

A goal in each half saw FC Romania clinch a place in Round Two of the Vase after victory over Eynesbury Rovers at Theobalds Lane.  Florin Pop netted nine minutes before the break to give the hosts the lead and then with a minute of normal time remaining Arotaritei sealed the hosts passage into the next round.
